It took me a long time to realize that music is my passion. It’s what gets me going, keeps me going.

First vinyl: In Harmony, a Grammy-winning, children’s compilation album…I can still sing most of Bette Midler’s “Blueberry Pie.”

From there, it was a slippery slope to buying The Police, Duran Duran, OMD, etc., which was pretty amazing considering that my hometown radio played — and still does — classic rock.  Thank goodness for college radio where I found the likes of Laurie Anderson, the Damned and Psychedelic Furs.  This was the 80s folks, you had to take what you could get.

First live: It may have been a random, open-air show by Don McLean as a kid.

Duran Duran failed me as a teen, cancelling a show a few hours from home, but thankfully REM and Natalie Merchant came to town.

Since then, there have been many shows and much more purchases of vinyl, tapes, cds and digital.  I may have even made you a mixed tape.
